In his mid-twenties, Anteas' father died on duty while investigating a mine collapse. Anteas was then promoted to guard captain, taking his father's honored place as one of the Jarl's most trusted protectors.Anteas spent his more youthful years in service to his Jarl, protecting their small town from the usual threats of bandits, wildlife, and the occasional Reachmen. He was both revered and beloved by his kinsmen for his years of stalwart duty, but in an instant, everything changed when a vampire infiltrated the keep and slayed the Jarl on Anteas' watch.Accused of conspiracy, due to details surrounding the murder, Anteas was forced to flee for his life. Dark Magic
Blood and Darkness
Anteas rose to becoming a Rose Guard captain after the untimely death of his father, Jovran. While the death was ruled accidental after the mine he was sent to investigate collapsed, killing the entire team, Anteas was not convinced. Rumors of vampires dwelling in the abandoned mine stirred suspicion amongst the Rose Guard, with many of them believing the investigation was a trap with the intent to deal a significant blow to the ranks of the devout brotherhood of peacekeepers.Without proof, Anteas accepted his promotion with honor and dignity, but swore he would continue to work his father's case, in the event any clues could be found to prove foul play. For several years, he performed his duties without fail, protecting his Jarl and his home. He was beloved by the citizens of Whiterose and was considered the finest of the Rose Guard, upholding its values with strength and virtue.Five years into his service, Rojana arrived in Rosewood and very quickly earned the trust of not only the Jarl, but Anteas as well. Charmed by her beauty, wit, and relentless sense of humor, he fell hard for the woman that had seemingly swept into his life as if by divine providence. Little did Anteas know, his beloved Rojana was plotting against him, and against the Jarl she had sworn to serve as his personal advisor. After a year of courtship and what appeared to be love, Rojana betrayed Anteas by luring him from his post and allowing in a small army of vampires. The Jarl's home was overrun, and the great leader, himself, was slain. In his private chamber, Anteas was unaware of the coup occurring in the throne room until vampires were breaking down his door. Believing he was protecting the woman he loved, Anteas found only betrayal when she drove a dagger through his back and she revealed her sinister identity as that of a vampire by feasting on his blood. Overwhelmed and unable to defend himself, Anteas was taken prisoner by his former lover and her fellow vampires. For seven years, Anteas suffered horrendous torture at the hands of his captors, including perverse experimentation that left unusual side effects and mysterious powers in their wake. When he thought he might die, at last, alone in the dark, one of these powers came to light, and Anteas found he was capable of changing into a faint mist, allowing him to slip out of his cell and away from the citadel. Finally free, but confused and disoriented, Anteas wandered the wilds of Skyrim as even his own name had become lost to him. His dark powers and urges were powerful whispers in his ear, and although he had not become a true vampire, many of the darknesses that accompanied the affliction tortured his waking mind and nearly drove him to madness. It wasn't until Anteas stumbled upon a Dunmer youth wandering just as aimlessly in the wilds that everything settled. The boy had unusual powers that helped quiet his mind, and settle his restless soul, and a bond was forged between them that Anteas knew could never be broken. He had found a son, and a purpose, and, most importantly of all, his mind was his own again, even if the dark power and urges remained.Anteas returned to Whiterose and found Rojana on the Jarl's seat, spinning her webs of deceit and control over the entire town. Blinded by her magic, no one could see her for what she was, but Anteas was determined to end her reign of lies. He slayed her when she returned to her chambers that evening, but the act was witnessed by the Rose Guard, and Anteas was named a criminal of the town, and all of Skyrim, for slaying Whiterose's supposedly beloved Jarl.Anteas fled Skyrim after the incident, taking his son, Whisper, with him, and together, they traveled all of Tamriel. Anteas feared he would never return to his homeland, but he knew with the vampire cult still living strong somewhere in the mountains, he could not stay away forever. At long last and after many adventurous travels for father and son, Anteas and Whisper journeyed back to Skyrim, and Anteas accepted the fate that had been dealt that named him an outlaw. He knew that by remaining a wanted man, he would be free to thwart the vampires by any means, and on his own terms, and he has done just that.Over the years, however, the vampiric magic he possesses has slowly been working a cruel dance upon his very soul, and each passing day brings new challenges, new desires, new cravings that he both fears and welcomes. In his mind, the vampires had given him the greatest gift, however unintentional: fire is best defeated by fire. The price has been high, with light-sensitive eyes becoming more and more blind in brighter light, and a near-irresistible need to use blood magic to defeat his enemies, but he is determined to maintain his sense of virtue, if not for himself, than for Whisper, and the bandits that he has taken in as his family over the years. In spite of it all, fears remain, a terror that he does not wish to face, but knows that one day, he might be forced to. For ten long years, he has been living with the effects of vile experimentation, living with gifts and powers that he should not have. How long remains before the darkness comes for him, and he becomes the very thing he's fought to destroy? He fears it is no longer a matter of if, but of when vampirism sinks its teeth into him and what he's run from finally catches up to him.

Rumors
Common
Skyrim (The Reach) | "You best be careful traveling the road in and out of Whiterose, friend. Bandits rule that way, and they aren't afraid of the law. Around here, we call them the Wolf Pack, and they're led by that traitor, the Jarl-killer, Captain Shorn. I'd take an escort, if I were you."
Skyrim (The Reach) | "I heard they increased the bounty on the Silver Wolf, Captain Shorn. He's a slippery one. Bounty hunters have struggled to capture him for ten years. Maybe, someday, I'll live to see who the lucky bastard is who finally beats him at his own game. By then, the bounty may be a million!"
Skyrim (The Reach) | "You're asking about Shorn? Yeah, he used to be a guard captain in the town of Whiterose. They say he conspired with vampires to stage a coup. He let the bastards walk right in through the front door and they killed the Jarl. Nobody suspected a thing. He had everyone fooled."
Uncommon
Skyrim (The Reach) | "I find it strange that Captain Shorn disappeared for seven years after he helped those vampires kill his Jarl. Just, gone! No breath or whisper of him, then he comes back around here and starts harassing poor folk coming back and forth on the roads near Whiterose. Wonder what he was up to for all that time? Laying low, I suppose."
Skyrim (The Reach) | "The Reachmen refuse to help hunt down Captain Shorn. They say he doesn't bother them any. I wonder why? Maybe because they don't have any silver worth stealing."
Skyrim (The Reach) | "I heard the guards talking about Captain Shorn. They said he isn't interested in anything but silver when he robs trade caravans. He just leaves everything else behind. I know silver is valuable, but why not go after the gold?"
Rare
Skyrim (The Reach) | "Mama says the Silver Wolf left food on our doorstep. She said he didn't speak to her at all. He just left it all there and ran back into the woods. Why do people want to catch him? He's nice!"
Skyrim (The Reach) | "If the Silver Wolf has you in his sights with that bow of his, you'd best pray to whatever god you believe in, because you'll be meeting them. That man never misses his mark. Some suspect there's magic afoot. Survivors of his attacks say they see red light shine on his bow shaft and hands. Strange magic, I say."
Skyrim (The Reach) | "A bounty hunter almost got his hands on that good-for-nothing traitor, Captain Shorn. The hunter's assistant was the only one left alive to tell the tale. He just left the boy alone and ran back into the woods. The kid says that in the scuffle, his master got his hands on that mask the captain wears that covers his eyes and ripped it off. He said the damnable bandit acted blind and was fumbling around for a minute. He thought for sure his master had that outlaw, then. He said there was a rush of red magic, and then his master was dead, and Shorn took off. Just like that!"

Homes and Properties
Formerly a Dwemer ruin converted into a Reachman keep, Silverbane became a mine when it was captured by Nords and silver was found deep in the bowls of the ruins. It was stripped of most of its structural past when it was converted into a mine, but faint echoes of its former glory can still be found in pockets throughout the caverns and hallways. It is now a home for the Wolf Pack Bandits, known among their ranks as the Den.
